Dear Paris... (a love letter)

Oh Paris I miss you! I'm sitting here in my room looking at my giant picture of you and I want to cry. It's been about a year and a half since we parted and the distance of time has only made my longing for you stronger. How have you been? Is that old man still hanging around Notre Dame? Can he give me another Eiffel Tour key chain (I lost mine)? What about the mean man with the heavenly hot chocolate? has anyone kicked him in the face yet?

I miss your patisseries, history, and that guy on the metro with the tennis racket. Call me crazy but I just miss the metro in general. The entertainment on there is better than anything they have playing on TV (except for Man vs. Wild) I mean, it didn't matter how many times I heard "Imagine" sung with a heavy French accent I always had to wipe a tear from my eye. And remember that time the metro doors closed on my bag and those two guys almost lost their hands trying to get it out? Or the time the metro stopped fast and everyone fell down like dominoes? Good times.

I'm sorry to say that I'm forgetting all of the French I've learned, will you hate me when I come back and I cant speak any French at all?..... Probably..... oh well..... I'll just get the crazy man who's uncle (or something) lived in Canada to translate. I know where he lives. He showed me. When I come back please let that crazy guy, and all of your many other crazy guys (especially the one from le musee de l'orangerie) know that I'm tough now. I can see right through their tricks so don't touch and keep a reasonable distance.

Anyway.... when I come back to you here are a few things I'm going to do that I didn't do last time.

1) Eat a macaroon. Why the heck didn't I do it while I was there last time? Am I completely insane??? yes.
2) Walk down the Champs Elysees without bawling like a baby.
3) Buy some perfume at Les galeries lafayette.
4) Go into l'opera (and maybe see an opera)
5) Go to the Quai Voltaire, the Bois de Boulogne, and Canal St-Martin.
6) And of course, money wont be a problem next time I'm there so I'll spend a lot of quality time shopping.
7) Just walk around. It's amazing the stuff you stumble upon in Paris, and that's why I love it so much, it's full of surprises..... and of course love, mystery, excitement and a little bit of danger :) it's never dull.

So Paris, I'll say goodbye for now.

Love,
Kori
