The Kori Story... a True Story

Kori is having another guest blogger and it is her sister EbaLLer. And yes I am a baller so don't mess with the best cause the best don't mess! This special blog entry will be a spotlight of its author. Kuber duber doooo!!!! I will be telling some very interesting things about Kori that very few people know about her. 1st off when she plays volleyball she is known to be the Irish setter. And you want to know why? Because she is short like a little leprechaun and her sets are like a rainbow magically perfect.

Setting: 7 th grade gym class. Shy blonde playing with her shoe while teacher is demonstrating how to play softball. Obviously she is not paying attention. One warm spring day at Oquirrh Hills Middle school , Kori Thaxton headed off to gym class. She was there with plenty of time to just sit and day dream. What she does best. The class begins to join. Young 7th grade girls talking in the gym. None of them had any experience with athletics or softball. The bell rings and class begins. Mrs. Monroe comes out to the gym with her role book in hand. She quiets down the noisy girls and takes roll. When she finishes with the roll she then announces that today they will be learning how to play softball. By then Kori was out of it because she was on a softball team and already knew how to play, and in no way wanted to listen to a boring lecture on how to run from 1st to 2nd base. So she went back to her day dreaming. Mrs. Monroe asks the class, “who in here has ever played softball?” Not looking at Kori who doesn’t raise her hand, she assumes Kori knows how to play because of her tremendous athletic ability she previously displayed when they played basketball and volleyball. So Mrs. Monroe goes over the beginners rules, and comes to the point where she needs to demonstrate how to throw a ball. “Kori!” Kori looks up not paying any attention to anything they just went over and Kori replies, “what.” She looks around at who just called her name out. Oh yeah, it was Mrs. Monroe. “Kori, would you come up front for me?” Kori goes up front. Her legs are shaking and she gets nervous because why would Mrs. Monroe need her in front of the class. Did she do something wrong. She was just in deep thought. “Okay Kori, would you show us all how to throw a softball?” Kori being a shy and nervous girl at this point. Says yeah. Taking a step with her right foot and throwing with her left hand she does not feel right with what she just demonstrated. The whole class becomes silent and Mrs. Monroe looks at Kori with a puzzled look. “Okay, I just asked Kori to demonstrate the wrong way…Now Kori, lets see the right way to throw the ball.” Just realizing that she threw the ball with her left hand and looked like a fool doing it she threw with her right and sat down. What the heck was she thinking? She wasn’t! Ha Ha!

One chilly March day Kori decided to go shopping at Walmart. She never really knows what she is shopping for she just goes for some fine finer things to do in her adventurous live. While looking for a camera to take with her on her trip to France she sets down $40 she held in her hand and becomes totally oblivious of the hussel and bussel of the Walmart customers. As she goes from camera to camera she decides its time to leave the store. As she gets out to her car she realizes that she left her money by the cameras so she runs back in to save it. When she gets to the case of cameras she discovers that her $40 has disappeared and is no where to be found. Furiously she looks all around the area but no $40. So Kori drives home and when she arrives at the house she tells her family she will never shop at Walmart again! But why Kori? What did Walmart do to you??? She replies, "They took my $40 I left on the camera shelf."

The day after Thanksgiving was a fine fine day and we found ourselves at PJs fine home in Layton on our way to move furniture to the Bear Lake Cabin. It was cool outside with a bit of overcast and he were loading the Uhaul truck with the Foosball table. As we waited to leave Kori and her twiner sis Hayley went to feed the animals at the fence. 3 dogs came running up to say hi to the 2 gals with flowing bright blonde beautiful hair. The first dog's name was Bella. A shiny black lab pup that was kind and just wanted to chase a stick. The 2 girls talked to the dog for a little while before a big horse came by. The blondes took some pictures quickly before the horse about bit off Hayley's ear. They came the dirty shaggy dogs commonly used as guard dogs for the near by farm. With Kori's kind and loving personality for the k9 species she reached through the jagged fence to say hi to the snarling and mean dog as it was viciously barking. And as she reached through the fence the dog attacked the bit the short little pointer of Kori's finger. Blood began to gush out. That silly dog. Why would it bite Kori as her intentions were only to be kind to the dirty mutt. She felt no hard feelings towards the dog... hopefully he didn't have a disease. As we were almost to Bear Lake Kori began to go flippy wild! Her little finger throbbed in pain and she could not stand it. The bite began to bleed more it kept bleedin! She changed bandages and put some neosuporin on it and she was back to her happy self.
